  90. The way I read the (too terse) documentation is that &N sets the rate
  91. you want to connect at, and will "NO CARRIER" if that rate is not
  92. achieved *UNLESS* you also use &U to set the minimum desired connect
  93. speed.

  95. As far as I can tell, the modem will disconnect if the &N speed is not
  96. achieved regardless of the &U setting.  "GSTN Cleardown" is cited
  97. as the failure reason.

  99. Setting &N to anything but 0 results in the "Fallback Enabled" status
  100. in ATI6.

  102. USR Sportster 28,800 modems are junk.  No ifs, ands, or buts. (Not for
  103. this reason alone.  This one's just easy to demonstrate.)
